I use Private Label Rights (PLR) content when creating products for sale, articles for autoresponders etc.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, PLR is content that you get from the original author along with their permission to use it as your own. So you can get a great report, put your name on it and have your own product to sell or give away!

It doesn't take long to compile products which are then ready to sell so it is definitely time well spent.

When searching for PLR content to use, I found there were a lot of different types of sites available. Some offered monthly memberships and others offered just one time purchases. So be sure to look around before you decide where to buy.

The site I found that was by far the best was PLRWholesaler. Not only do they have an unbelievable amount of content, but it's completely FREE. Most sites charge an arm and a leg for the amount of content that this guy is giving away.

Many are ready for immediate use whilst you might want to tweak or personalise others. You can often use PLR to compile a book thereby creating your own product very quickly at minimal cost. PLR is not just limited to articles.

But how do you know where to find PLR and which source is worthwhile? Here's a checklist:

1.Look for a PLR provider that offers many different types of content. If you are only getting articles, things may get boring fast. Look for blog-ready posts, graphics, eBooks, worksheets, and professionally designed PDFs.

2.Use PLR content written and designed by experts in their field. Make sure you’re getting content written by native English-speaking professionals so you can continue to be the authority in your niche.

3.Opt for regular content delivery so you can keep your site fresh. Search engines love frequently updated sites, so make sure you receive new content for your site regularly.

4.Get PLR content that can be changed and edited to meet your needs. Make sure you’re allowed to change the content to fit your needs. Some providers forbid you from using the content if you stop paying, so be careful. Never make assumptions and read the license agreement!

My Secret Formula For Using Articles To Gain TOP Search Engine Ranking

I use articles, videos, podcasts and press releases extensively in my marketing. I use them to build my lists, gain search engine ranking, and drive traffic to targeted pages where that traffic often converts directly into sales.

I've been using article marketing VERY effectively since 1996 and find it an excellent method for generating long-term traffic.

My biggest secret is probably that I begin my article writing by doing keyword research. I doubt that most article marketers do this. I have a target product, niche or website, and I focus on what keywords would bring traffic to them. You can do the same. Here's how.

First of all you want to target the right keywords. It does no good to bring in traffic that is not buyers, so you want to ask what terms buyers are typing into the search engines. Make a list. The list should include "long tail" 3-5 word phrases.

Next use the Google's External Keyword Tool at:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
to research your keywords.

Enter the keywords that you brainstormed into the form at the url above, one keyword phrase per line. The software will suggest other popular keywords and also show you search volume. It will show you not only how many times a given term is search on per month, but also how much competition you have for that term.

Download the results of that search as a spreadsheet in "csv for Excel" to analyze data easier. The link to do that is at the bottom of your search results page. This will let you sort the data based upon a number of criteria.

Outline a dozen articles based upon your keyword research. This can initially be just a rough outline containing a few main points. You will flesh it out later creating articles ranging from 500 - 1200 words.

Write the articles, one at a time, not stressing over them. Write a little, and then if your creativity is waning, take a break. I can often write 4-6 articles before needing a break.

Since the articles are all on a related topic, it's ok to repeat the same thoughts or concepts in multiple articles. Most of your readers won't read all of your articles and those who read the same thoughts in more than one article will
only have those concepts reinforced.

Use your target keywords in your titles. You know that these keywords are appropriate, and are being searched on, so put them in your titles, where they will attract the most attention.

Your title is the most important part of any article, because it's what entices your reader to stop and read the rest of the article. If it doesn't grab their attention, the rest of the article will never be seen.

Use target keywords in the body of your articles several times.

How Not to Use Twitter for Affiliate Marketing

I need to get something out of the way...I am a Twitter fanatic. In fact, it would come as no surprise to me if my wife was spending every minute she has in order to learn how to become a hacker so that she could take it down and have her husband back (I'm really not that bad, but you get the idea).

So considering that fact that I spend a lot of my time learning how to master the art of Twitter marketing and that I've even created my own Twitter products, what I am about to say might be a little too close to the bone - even for me.

However, the truth is the truth and we can't hide from it: 99% of the affiliate marketers on Twitter have zero idea how to market correctly.

Furthermore, many of those that don't get it are teaching new users how not to get it too, leading to a cycle of spam, crappy auto-DM's, and accounts that get suspended or marked as spam before they have even had a chance to flourish.

If you want to sell an affiliate product on Twitter, you cannot expect to be able to do it in 140 characters, and yet, that's what many marketers try to do. Their Twitter streams are filled with blatant sales pitches, so much so that you start to wonder if there is a real person behind the curtain.

Look, if I don't know who you are, I don't know where you are linking to, and I don't see anything but pitches in your Twitter stream, then I am not going to click through. If I do, if you get lucky, you will see me hit the back button before the page even finishes loading.

You cannot take over someone's DM's (Direct Messages) and have them send out spam on your behalf. Aside from the fact that it is extremely annoying, it takes advantage of people that don't know any better. You are actually hurting your customer in the process. Hit-and-run business tactics are shameful and will not help you in the long run.

Creating a product that only teaches people how to make money on Twitter by promoting your "make money on Twitter" product is, well, just sad. Sure, you might make a few bucks, but what does that get you? Again, it is this type of short term thinking that turns Twitter into a madhouse and creates an environment where marketers are no longer trusted. At that point, you've ruined it for all of us.

Perhaps the most blatant offender is the reply spammer, which is relatively new to the scene. These people reply to popular Twitter users with an affiliate link, and try to trick people into clicking. These reply spammers also try to trick the popular person's followers, because at first glance, it looks like the Tweet is coming from them. Considering most of these tweets look identical, I simply click the block button and move on. Get blocked often enough and you'll be suspended.

So Why Are They Doing It?

Most affiliate marketers on Twitter are doing this because they are too lazy to learn how to effectively sell affiliate products. You shouldn't try to sell someone in a PPC ad; you bring them to your sales page so that your sales letter can do the selling. It's the same with Twitter. To do this, though, you've got to be relevant, which means that not everything you say can be a sales pitch. When it is, though, it has to address the needs of your list. Sending out blanket replies just doesn't work.

Sadly, many people buy systems that tell them that these methods work. To make matters worse, many of them use viral friend adders that help them get recognition and more marketers promoting their products. Eventually, regardless of how faulty the system is, it spreads like wildfire. Everyone gets caught, no one wins.

They aren't interested in helping people. The last category is comprised of marketers that use the same tactics in other venues. They use software to generate new accounts by the dozens, so they don't care if they get suspended. They aren't interested in helping people - they simply want to make an easy buck.

So How Do You Sell on Twitter?
I've written about this extensively because it is a matter that I am extremely passionate about. I am tired of shady marketers ruining it for everyone and more importantly, I'm tired of seeing new people get taken advantage of.

So here's the truth:If you want to sell on Twitter, you have to build relationships and create targeted lists based on interests. Once you learn how to build these networks (which really is easy to do), you can link to relevant affiliate offers without having to worry about getting unfollowed or blocked. The key is to let the content, not a Tweet, do the selling. If everything you say on Twitter is a pitch of some sort, it won't work. However, if you learn to be relevant and helpful, your random pitch will not only be noticed, but will be appreciated.

People love to buy...we love to consume great content. However, we have to be warmed up before we do it. On social networks, it's the relationships that sell, not the message. It's really up to you, though. You can spam people and make a quick buck (maybe), or you can build credibility and build a successful business. In my opinion, taking the latter route is much more efficient.

When you hear that voice inside your head telling you that you are just too old to start marketing online, remember that it is just fear talking. It is likely that it is fear causing you to use your age as an easy out. Others have overcome those feelings and you have the power to do the same.

How To Get An Empty Email Inbox

Having an empty inbox feels great and can save you tons of time. Since I did this I'm realising how much time I spent just looking at the titles of all the 'pending' emails in my inbox. Now I don't have that distraction I have a lot more time for making money. It's amazing!

I started at a site called 43 Folders. There is tons to read there so to save you time, I will reveal how to do this quickly, the way I did.

First, create some new folders in your email inbox. These are in two sections:

(a) Folders for emails requiring action
1-Soonest (urgent, you want to take action today).
2-Later (action required sometime this week or this month).
3-Training (e.g. link to that 55 minute video on Twitter that you want to watch but never seem to find the time).

These 3 should be at the top of your list of folders so include the numbers in the folder names.

(b) Folders for filing (emails you have dealt with, or not requiring action but worth keeping)
- Useful information (e.g. a link to an interesting article that you have read and might want to read again ... if you didn't read the article yet it goes in Training)
- Purchases (emails confirming purchases or containing information about something you purchased, updates for software that you own, etc)
- Wanted (promotions for things you don't need to get right now, but they look good and you might want them sometime)
- Websites (emails from your hosting company or domain registrar containing important information about your sites).

You will also probably want folders for keeping email from certain people, membership sites, or on certain topics.

After you have the folders set up, go through your inbox sorting your emails. Use the unsubscribe button for people you don't want to hear from again. Delete anything that you don't need to keep and sort the others for action or file them. You will need to take a quick look at some of them but don't click any links.

Continue until there is not one single email in your inbox, then take action on the emails in the 'Soonest' folder. Remember this folder was only for things that need action TODAY.

HOW TO KEEP IT EMPTY
Schedule time, two or three times each day, when you deal with email. During that time, look first at your new mail and sort it so that the inbox is empty. Then open up your 'Soonest' folder and deal with them all or as many as you have time for, so that they can be deleted or filed. Then move on to 'Later' or 'Training' - you can pick.

Each email requiring action will be opened a maximum of two times: once to sort it and once to deal with it. Emails not requiring action are read and either deleted or filed immediately.

IT WORKS!
I had about 250 'pending' emails in my inbox when I did this ... and I was already dealing with the urgent ones and filing or deleting everything I could. I now have about 40 in 'Training' and 10 in 'Later'. The rest are filed or gone.

The good news is that the system *does* work. Unlike previous times when I have cleared my inbox, now it is emptied every time I look at my email. Sometimes it's STILL empty when I look at it. It's spooky!

4 Reasons Why Most Internet Marketers Fail Miserably

An often-quoted statistic is that that 95% of all Internet businesses fail. The reality is that the vast majority of businesses in the offline world fail too, so the picture is not bleaker online. In-fact, it's better online since most aspiring Internet marketers could never even find sufficient capital to start a business in the offline world.

The sad part is that many of these failing online businesses fail for readily identifiable reasons. Often the business owners are even aware of the reasons but do nothing about them.

Let's look very briefly at four of these reasons:

1) Selling The Wrong Products
Once you have identified a profitable niche, one in which customers happily spend money to solve their problems, then the next step is to identify what is it that they really, really want.

If you offer your customers what they tell you that they want,and what they are already buying, then they will buy it from you.

If you try to convince your customers that they want something that they've already told you that they DON'T want, then you'll soon be out of business.

Many failing marketers simply need to drop "a loser," and start marketing something that is WANTED!

2) Trying To Do Everything Yourself
In "Think And Grow Rich," Napoleon Hill taught nearly a century ago that "specialized knowledge" is a success essential. You need to find one or two things that you do really well, and that people are willing to pay for, and then you need to do only those things.

Everything else involved in operating your business should be done by someone better at doing those tasks.

The disconnect we run into there is that, as a business owner,your job is to grow and manage the business. So what if that's not what you're good at? Then you may need to find a way to market whatever it is that you ARE good at. You may also need
to hire a business or operations manager!

In a recent mastermind call with Rich Schefren, where he interviewed a dozen top Internet marketers, most earning over $1 million a year online, we all shared that our greatest business growth started when we stopped trying to do everything
ourselves.

If you're still trying to do all of your own programming,copywriting, graphics, customer service, database management,script installations, article writing, video creation, traffic generation, product creation, audio/video editing, pay-per-click
management, etc., then you are so bogged down in the minutiae of "working in your business" that it's impossible for you to even identify which things are essential for "working on your business."

This is a tough decision for many of us, but you absolutely have to identify the things that you MUST do, and then you need to outsource most of the rest. As an example, my talent seems to be copywriting, so copywriting is really the only thing that I focus on aside from planning and managing business growth.

I do plan product launches for client, but that still falls under planning and managing business growth.

3) Very Poor Time Management
Dan Kennedy once observed "You will never finish all of the things on your to do list." That tells me that I shouldn't try to, but should instead frequently ask which things I personally need to do, which things I need to get others to do, and which things don't really need doing at all.

For the online marketer, good time management is really just establishing some new habits, and breaking some old bad ones. Common habits that need changing include:
- Don't let email dominate your time. Many online marketers spend many hours each day just digging out from under the deluge of email. For help in that area, I highly recommend that you checkout http://TamingTheEmailMonster.com

I spend about 30 minutes per day on email. The course at the url above is what allowed me to take back control of my life.

- Turn off the television during work hours. If you were working for someone else, say in an office, I'm sure that you wouldn't expect to be allowed to sit in front of the television all day with your laptop perched on your lap.

Unless you are VERY different from me, you cannot focus on your work while watching television. Not only that, but watching a lot of negative programs (news included) will completely zap your energy and shift you out of a productive mindset.

- Establish work hours. Tell your family and friends when you'll be working, and let them know that when you're really focused on work, you shouldn't be disturbed any more than you'd expect to be disturbed if you worked at a regular job.

Explain to them that you can get more done in one hour if you really concentrate that you can in five hours with frequent interruptions. Explain that letting you really focus at designated times gives you MORE free time to spend with them...
and you'll have more money to spend on them too.

4) Too Many Projects That Are Never Completed
My friend Mike Filsaime likes to point out during seminar presentations that if you have a dozen projects started but not completed, you'll make less money that having just ONE project completed and on the market.

CHOOSE one project that you want to get completed and on the market. Focus exclusively on that one until it is finished before doing anything else.

Since you are an entrepreneur, and probably come up with a new idea "once every five minutes," keep a note pad handy to jot down new ideas. When you get a new idea, jot it down on the note pad, and then knowing that it won't be lost, go back to what
you were working on previously.

Another option if you're an idea person, or great at starting projects, is to partner with "finishers." Instead of letting projects bog down, and never reach the market, partner with someone who will push it through to completion, splitting the
profits with them.

If you don't like that idea, consider how much those unfinished projects are making you. Would you prefer 50% of whatever that finished project makes, or 100% of nothing (which is exactly what most of your unfinished projects earn).

We've just looked very briefly at four reasons why most Internet marketers fail miserably. Now that you have acknowledged that these ARE problem areas for you, the question becomes what are you going to do about them.

Sadly, many people will read this article and then choose to do absolutely nothing about these problems. Nothing will change! However, you're different, and therefore destined for online success.

Everyone's done it - you go to a great website. As you flip through, you find tons of interesting information, great things you want to buy, ebooks you want to download. You vow you'll come back later when you have more time to check it out.

And you don't ever return. Not only do you never return, you either don't bookmark it or you forget what name the bookmark was under. You've lost a potential goldmine of information, and the site owner has lost at least one, and probably several, potential future sales.

Don't let this happen to your website. Keep your customers coming back by giving them what they really want: great information and service.

Hooking Them the First Time
A customer who comes to your site the first time is usually curious, or thinks that your site has the resources to give him or her what they are urgently seeking.

If you don't either fully engage their curiosity or demonstrate that you are what they're looking for within the first ten seconds, you'll lose the sale, almost guaranteed. If, on the other hand, you hook the customer, you just might have a sale.

How To Create An Internet Product In One Day

Today I'm going to show you how to create a hot selling info product in one day. And get this, you'll only have to write five paragraphs. Anyone on the planet can do that.

So without further ado let's get started.

Decide on Your Ebook Topic
The first step is to have it clear in your mind what subject you want your ebook to be on.

Now what we're going to do is use other people's hard work to create our very own unique products. Sounds too good to be true doesn't it? However this is a very real opportunity that the top gun ebook publishers use time and time again to create products in lightning quick time.

Go to www.goarticles.com. You can find niche ebook ideas in article directories and we're going to use the content in them to create ebooks.

You see web site owners write articles and submit them to article directories so that they get free publicity for their sites. At the end of each article is a link back to their web site with a bit of information about their site, for example. These site owners want people to take that article and market it to people so they get visitors to their site without spending a dime on marketing. This is perfect for savvy entrepreneurs just like you.

You see what we can do at go articles.com is type in a niche in the search bar at the top right (make sure it's on "article content" rather than search by author).

Type in your niche market. So for example type in "dogs". You'll get thousands of results related to what you have searched for. Now what I want you to do is simply go through the results finding at least seventy quality articles related to the dog market and copy and paste them into word or some kind of word processing application.

As I've said, make sure they are quality articles. If you create an ebook using rubbish you'll just get a sky high refund rate and it will all be a pointless exercise. Do it right from the off and you'll set yourself up for success.

If you can, try and tie all the articles together in one sub niche. For example a sub niche of dogs might be training your dog. So you could find articles on stopping your dog from barking at night,toilet training, that kind of thing. Use a bit of imagination when using this method.

Email Article Authors
You don't want to use any articles without the author's permission.

Remember the majority of articles will have been submitted so the author can get visitors to their site without spending a dime.

However you never want to breach any copyright laws. To avoid this email the authors of each article. Explain to them that you are creating an ebook aimed at their niche market. You'd love to include their article in your book and you'll include a link back to their site and information about them. Also ask them if they have any other articles you could include.

You can expect around seventy percent of authors you contact to be delighted you're going to include their article in your book. Then all you need to do is discard the articles from authors who you haven't heard from or who won't let you use their article.

Put the articles in an order that makes sense and create a contents page. Use the titles of the articles as contents topics. You could even create chapters aimed at solving certain problems people in your niche have. So for example if you were creating an ebook on golf you could create a section on improving your golf swing, a
section on the mind game of golf and so on. All articles would make up separate chapters.

Add a graphic for your first page. You can find graphics to use at http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/clipart/default.aspx.

Add a title and a small copyright section so people know that this product is unique to you and your business. Also point out that people don't have the rights to resell it.

Finally write a short introduction and conclusion. These only need to be a few paragraphs each. Tell people what they can expect to learn and make sure you sign off using your name. Instantly you will establish yourself as an expert. You can also link to your back end products at the end of the book to increase your sales.

This is even more exciting. I'm now going to show you how to create twenty products or more using a special method that is vastly underused but hugely profitable.

It's all about dominating niche markets and this is one way you can do that.

What you do is create a generic book for your niche then create multiple versions of the product aimed at areas of the niche.

For example if you created a product aimed at dogs the generic product would be aimed at all dogs, but the sub products could be aimed at poodles, labradors, bulldogs and so on.

All you'd need to do is change the title and the introduction so it was aimed at a specific dog breed and you've got a unique product that can be marketed to a highly targeted niche.

Does that make sense?

Let me give you another example. If you were to create a product on the subject of how to be a great teacher you could create a generic book, and then with a few changes aim separate books at people teaching maths, people teaching science, people teaching history and so on.

The key here is to create a product that will benefit everyone in a niche and then create ultra specific versions.

10 Blog Traffic Tips

In every blogger's life comes a special day - the day they first launch a new blog. Now unless you went out and purchased someone else's blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader - you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that's about as far you went when it comes to finding readers. Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers.

These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling.

It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called "traction", which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal readers do the work for you through word of mouth.

Top 10 Blog Traffic Tips
10. Write at least five major "pillar" articles. A pillar article is usually a tutorial style article aimed to teach your audience something. Generally they are longer than 500 words and have lots of very practical tips or advice. This article you are currently reading could be considered a pillar article since it is very practical and a good "how-to" lesson. This style of article has long term appeal, stays current (it isn''t news or time dependent) and offers real value and insight. The more pillars you have on your blog the better.

9. Write one new blog post per day minimum. Not every post has to be a pillar, but you should work on getting those five pillars done at the same time as you keep your blog fresh with a daily news or short article style post. The important thing here is to demonstrate to first time visitors that your blog is updated all the time so they feel that if they come back tomorrow they will likely find something new. This causes them to bookmark your site or subscribe to your blog feed.

You don't have to produce one post per day all the time but it is important you do when your blog is brand new. Once you get traction you still need to keep the fresh content coming but your loyal audience will be more forgiving if you slow down to a few per week instead. The first few months are critical so the more content you can produce at this time the better.

8. Use a proper domain name. If you are serious about blogging be serious about what you call your blog. In order for people to easily spread the word about your blog you need an easily rememberable domain name. People often talk about blogs they like when they are speaking to friends in the real world (that''s the offline world, you remember that place right?) so you need to make it easy for them to spread the word and pass on your URL. Try and get a .com if you can and focus on small easy to remember domains rather than worry about having the correct keywords (of course if you can get great keywords and easy to remember then you've done a good job!).

7. Start commenting on other blogs. Once you have your pillar articles and your daily fresh smaller articles your blog is ready to be exposed to the world. One of the best ways to find the right type of reader for your blog is to comment on other people's blogs. You should aim to comment on blogs focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in your blog.

Most blog commenting systems allow you to have your name/title linked to your blog when you leave a comment. This is how people find your blog. If you are a prolific commentor and always have something valuable to say then people will be interested to read more of your work and hence click through to visit your blog.

6. Trackback and link to other blogs in your blog posts. A trackback is sort of like a blog conversation. When you write a new article to your blog and it links or references another blogger's article you can do a trackback to their entry. What this does is leave a truncated summary of your blog post on their blog entry - it's sort of like your blog telling someone else's blog that you wrote an article mentioning them. Trackbacks often appear like comments.

This is a good technique because like leaving comments a trackback leaves a link from another blog back to yours for readers to follow, but it also does something very important - it gets the attention of another blogger. The other blogger will come and read your post eager to see what you wrote about them. They may then become a loyal reader of yours or at least monitor you and if you are lucky some time down the road they may do a post linking to your blog bringing in more new readers.

5. Encourage comments on your own blog. One of the most powerful ways to convince someone to become a loyal reader is to show there are other loyal readers already following your work. If they see people commenting on your blog then they infer that your content must be good since you have readers so they should stick around and see what all the fuss is about. To encourage comments you can simply pose a question in a blog post. Be sure to always respond to comments as well so you can keep the conversation going.

4. Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that summarizes a collection of articles from many different blogs on a specific topic. The idea is to collect some of the best content on a topic in a given week. Often many other blogs link back to a carnival host and as such the people that have articles featured in the carnival enjoy a spike in new readers.

3. Submit your blog to blogtopsites.com. To be honest this tip is not going to bring in a flood of new readers but it's so easy to do and only takes five minutes so it's worth the effort. Go to Blog Top Sites, find the appropriate category for your blog and submit it. You have to copy and paste a couple of lines of code on to your blog so you can rank and then sit back and watch the traffic come in. You will probably only get 1-10 incoming readers per day with this technique but over time it can build up as you climb the rankings. It all helps!

2. Submit your articles to EzineArticles.com. This is another tip that doesn't bring in hundreds of new visitors immediately (although it can if you keep doing it) but it's worthwhile because you simply leverage what you already have - your pillar articles. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to Ezine Articles. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter.

How you benefit is through what is called your "Resource Box". You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.

You know where you are (as is) and you know where you want to be (should be). Next step is to identify the barriers and come up with a proper action plan (barriers, gap) that can be implemented to get you from where you are to where you want to be, and at all times keeping in mind how different your life will be when you arrive to that destination in your mind (payoff).

This is something learned from a Dale Carnegie sales training course years ago:

"As Is, Should Be, Barriers, & Payoff."

From assessing a potential client to assessing my own life or a project, use those 6 words to assist you in getting from idea to implementation.

Next, ask this key question: Who is your ideal target market?

I mean down to the nitty gritty! Where do they surf online? What business are they in? What car do they drive? What size house do they own? What magazines do they subscribe to? What online newsletters do they subscribe to? What memberships do they have (gym, golf club, online communities, etc)? Who are the key leverage people they listen to?

Then, how can you get your irresistible message and call to action in front of them?

Let's back up a step...

Knowing who your ideal target market is, what are their hot buttons, problems, worries, fears? Their aspirations, dreams, goals?

From answering that, what is your absolute best attempt at helping them overcome their fears and at the same time assist them in reaching their goals through your amazingly irresistible offer? (Which would grab their attention just as much as if Hulk Hogan reached across the table and grabbed their throat.)

Some people call that a USP. What is your USP (Unique Selling Proposition/Point)? What separates you from your competition?

Those are the basics of business. (Repetition is never a bad thing, and sometimes stuff you already know being restated brings an A-Ha moment.)

Scam artists are in abundance, and just waiting for someone who is hopeful - and inexperienced - to happen by. Don't let it be you!

Of course, there are scam artists who target those who want to start their own home based business, but there are also scam artists who target average computer users around the world. These scam artists are adept at creating web sites that look and feel just like the web sites that you commonly use. For example, they can make an exact duplicate site of your bank's web site, in an attempt to trick you into providing them with your username and password, or other sensitive data, such as your account number or credit card number.

In home based business scams, however, things work a bit differently. In this case, the scammer simply wants you to give him your money, in exchange for a load of lies and unfulfilled promises. He doesn't need your bank account information, he just needs payment, which inexperienced hopeful people will happily give him. He will take your money knowing that he is crushing your dreams and draining your bank account - and he won't care.

So, how can you protect yourself from these scammers? The first step is to use good, sound common sense. As always, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Learn to recognize hype, and to avoid offers that are 'hyped.' Hype means that outlandish promises are being made. For example, a scammer might promise you that you can make tens of thousands of dollars in just a few short days, with little or no work. That is a common ploy used in scammy home based business advertisements.

If possible, ask to talk directly with other people who have invested in the business opportunity, and verify who they are. Note that a scammer can put people up to telling you anything that they think that you want to hear, but often, when asked for references and such, a scammer will move on.

Once again, use good common sense in all transactions, and trust your instincts. If it feels wrong, it probably is. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you are unsure, do not move forward until you are sure. The right business opportunity will come along, but by paying attention, and knowing what to be on the lookout for, you won't spend a great deal of time or money investing in business scams.
